Home / News / Dalvík!

Dalvík the small skiing town, was recently formed in 1998 by the merger of three districts of the outer Eyjafjörður. The small town of 2.000 people has Whale watching and Skiing as the tourist attractions, but restaurants and hiking are also other things that are available to do. The main economy input from the town is fishing and fish processing. Fun fact from the small town is that they have produced a number of skiers that have represented Iceland in Major skiing tournaments, in a different sport former international football player Heiðar Helguson who played for the likes of Fulham, Bolton and Cardiff City, grew up in this beautiful little town. I recommend checking out the small town, great town for skiing!
